Santa city in Finland
If you ask me, Santa lives on the Northpole. If you ask a Finn, he or she would say he lives of course in Rovaniemi. A small city in finish Lapland right at the arctic circle.
I have been there – only in summer though – and I loved it. There is Santa village where you can have a little audience with Santa (a picture is only 25 Euros) and then there is the Santa Park. A crazy place.
In the middle of nowhere outside the city centre you find, next to a parking lot for several thousand (?) cars, the entrance to the cave where Santa and his little helpers live.
There is an elf school where you as a visiter can learn how to tiptoe into people’s living rooms delivering presents.
There is Santa’s post office where you can send letters back home in July and they arrive on December 24th – not due to bad mail service, but because they were signed by Santa (I have proof that it works).
And then there is the ice-queen in her real ice castle pouring Vodka in real ice glasses.
Do I have to say more? … A wonderful place to get into christmas mood – already in July.
Have you been there? How did you like it?
